KOPACZ - Arnold Richard "Archie"

Age 94 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Sepember 6, 2015 at the age of 94.  Born in Lansing Michigan on December 6, 1921 the son of the late Florian Kopacz and the late Regina "Reggie" (nee Bachowski) Kopacz.  His family moved from Lansing MI to Chicago and eventually settled in the Kaisertown section of Buffalo.  It is there Archie made his hame and raised his family.

He was a proud WW11 Army Veteran and loved the American Flag and the freedom the flag represented. He had a long and established career at the Ford Motor Company in Lackawanna retiring after 60+ years of service.  His positions included mechanic and electrical engineer.  His hobby up util 10 years ago was taking any kind of engine apart and re-buliding it. A trade he proudly passed on to his son.

Archie would have neighbors and friends bring lawn mowers, snow blowers or anything with an engine to him for repair. This was hi passion as he would say repairing "keeps my hands and motion, my brain active and my vision sharp". He rarely charged for labor and would always come through for his neighbors, family and friends.

Proud grandfather of 7, great grandfather of 4 and great great grandfather of 5. Archie is also predeceased by siblings; Arlene (the late Ronald) Mazurek, George (the late Rose), Edward (the late Frances) and Anne (survived by Charles) Witek. He is adored by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. he is also predeceased by his beloved terriors; Scottie, Charlie and Will.

At Archie's request, there will be no calling hours.  He chose to be cremated and laid to rest alongside his much missed Katherine "Kate" with a family graveside service with Military Honors at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at St. Bernard's R.C. We remember Archie and Kate and the family very well. Many lawnmowers, snowblowers and car repairs he did for us when we were neighbors. Always a smile and a warm welcome. What a beautiful reunion in Heaven with his bride and son. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Often we recall the "good old days" on Fredro St. God Bless all of you. Lou and Stella Ed and Jackie Pam and Dan Hodak and all our families in Buffalo and RI.
