Mr. Francis Walter Malczewski, age 93, passed away peacefully at 7:20 pm on Thursday,  February 4, 2016 at the WNY Veterans Medical Campus in Buffalo NY.

Francis was born on June 20, 1922 in Buffalo New York. He was the son of the late Walter and the late Laura Mailen.

Francis was a Marine Veteran, serving his country from July 21, 1942 through December 5, 1945 when he was honorably discharged.  His rank at the time of discharge was Private First Class.  He served in the Asiatic Pacific area from December 3, 1943 through December 5, 1945 as well as participated in action against the enemy in Guam from July 21, 1944 through August 15, 1944.  Francis was awarded a  Certificate of Satisfactory Service as well as a Good Conduct Medal on July 20, 1945.

 He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be remembered for loving trips to the casino, he enjoyed watching football and baseball. He loved the time he spent with his two sons and their families. Francis also enjoyed watching the Price is Right and the Wheel of Fortune.

His beloved wife, Mary (nee Kushka) Malczewski passed away on October 5, 2011.  Devoted and loving father of John (the late Joanne)  Malczewski and David (Michelle) Malczewski. Beloved grandfather of Cynthia (Brier) Hanson, Carolyn (Lee)
Malczewski-Hoffman, Kimberly Malczewski, Tracy (Wayne) Frazer, Stacy (Phil) Schneider and Kristy Malczewski. Dearest great grandfather of Stephanie, Heather, Matthew, Blake, Alexis, Joshua, Kelsey and Tyler.  Fond brother of the late Eleanore (the late Norbert) Pauley and Alfreda (Leonard) Kostelney. Francis is also survived by nieces, nephews and wonderful family friends.

The Malczewski Family will hold a private service with full Military Honors at St. Matthews Cemetery. Francis will be laid to rest alongside his wife in the  Garden of St. Matthew.  There will be no prior calling hours.  In honor of Francis, expressions of sympathy may be directed to a charity of your choice.

To the family of Francis Walter Malczewski. I am so sorry for the loss of your love one. Death is not natural and that's why it hurts when it happen. May the family find comfort reading what is promised us at John 5:28, 29. May the GOD of comfort ease your pain.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Fortunately there is comfort in knowing your grandpa is in a better place. The Lord has his loving arms wrapped tightly around him and there could be nothing more beautiful than that. What a great Angel your Dzia Dzia will make.
