Elisabeth Rose (nee Rudecki) Walczak


Age 99, passed away Friday June 17, 2016. She was born in Toronto Canada the only child of Lawernce R.and  Catherine (nee Belmont) Rudecki. She and her parents came to the United States when Elisabeth was fifteen years old.

Most of her life she lived in Cheektowaga for almost eighty years. While  working as a secretary for Sears she met her husband and the love of her life Charles Walczak. They shared sixty five years of marriage together until his death.

Elisabeth was an extraordinary baker. She made her own jams/jellies, doughnuts, placek, danishes and when she was fifty five years old she made and decorated her first wedding cake for her Godchild. Since that time and up until she was seventy five years old she was proud to say she made from scratch almost 300 wedding cakes.  She taught the Wilton method of cake decorating at various venues.

She is predeceased by her parents Lawerence R and Catherine. Predeceased by her husband Charles and son Donald (survived by Barbara) Walczak of LA. Devoted mother of Hannalee (late Frank) Vitale of Toronto and Michael (late Virginia) Walczak. Grandmother of eight, great grandmother of six and great great grandmother of five. Godmother of Jacqueline (late Mark) Gruber.

At Elisabeth's request there will be no calling hours. A private committal service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. family and friends will be invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the R.C. Church of St. Casimir at a date and time to be announced in mid summer.
